Last night my Dundrum A team of Artur, Marcus and myself recorded a comfortable 8-1 win over Terenure A. Terenure consisted of Tibor Pofók, Attila Mandler and David Pender. The convincing scoreline is somewhat misleading as some of the matches went straight to the wire. On a personal note, it was my first outing in a competitive environment for over 5 years and I was a little nervous but confident in my ability. Artur got us off to a winning start and I quickly put my nerves to one side. I had Tibor next and was pleased with a 3-0 victory. I always feel comfortable playing against Lefties.
Winning the first set in any match is ultra crucial and I failed to do that against Attila and was on the back foot until 9-9 in the fifth and didn't play aggressive enough. Atilla ran out the winner and possibly that lack of match practice and usual killer instinct deserted me on this occasion. The team won which is more important and we move on and upwards.
