High School Marching On In Leinster Schools League U18

2/27/2015

Table Tennis coaching at High School Rathgar has been progressing really well lately. Some of our player's have also been encouraged to join Dundrum ttc Junior section and that appears to have helped them improve. Our U18 team have won two out of three matches so far in the league. Wins over Mountrath and Castleknock and a loss against Blackrock has been the story so far.

The lads realize the challenge of matching and possibly overtaking Blackrock in the future who have been extremely impressive in all divisions. It's simple, the more you practice the more you win. High School have been investing in TT and now it is beginning to pay off.

Next update soon.

Leinster League Div1 Update

2/20/2015

Dundrum TTC are looking like winners of the Division One Leinster Table Tennis League. I have have played a couple of matches but Artur, Marcus, Brian and Pat have been more active in securing our spot on top of the league. Leixlip 1 beat Dundrum 2 last night 6-3 with former Irish TT legend Tommy Caffrey rolling back the years to win his three matches.

If Dundrum 1 can hold on to win the League, this will be a massive boost for the club who are slowly building for the future. I recently had to step down as coach in the club due to other work commitments and I would like to wish Vladislav Agurjanovs all the best in his new role and hopefully he can take club to an even bigger level.

Yours in Sport

Table Tennis School's Development Programme #tabletennis

Coaching development and consultancy is coming along smoothly in a number of schools around Leinster. Table Tennis is a magnificent sport and suitable for all children. Boys appear to be more available to participate, and while this is good news in general, my main concern is not being able to encourage more young female players into the Table Tennis arena. The recent Women In Sport Programme which has been introduced has been of huge benefit and because of this I have been able to set up a women's team in High School who are now engaged in Leinster League School's competition.

I am now actively involved in Belvedere College, High School, Loreto On The Green and will now be starting as coach in Gonzaga College shortly.

The more schools involved at schools level will undoubtedly have a better chance of continuing the coaching long after I am gone.
