I am delighted to announce I am joining RTE Television Sport for it's Olympic coverage. I will be working as a commentator for the period of the games. When I worked on the London 2012 games I was so impressed with the organisation within RTE. One person who I will miss is Bill O'Herlihy. I met him in the canteen on my first day in RTE four years ago. He asked me what my speciality subject was and I said ''Table Tennis'' and he giggled and said ''Only Protestants'' play that:) That was Bill, no holding back and always having a laugh.

He was very helpful to me during London 2012 and the real experienced guys and gals are the ones to learn from.

I kick off in RTE early August and I am looking forward to it.

Sport and the Olympics are a special event and to be involved in it with the State broadcaster is an immense pleasure.
