Why the Mainstream Media has failed Trump

10/24/2016

We are just over two weeks away from the most unpredictable and exciting Presidential race for the White House the world has ever seen. I've been glued to the race since July of last year when Donald Trump announced he was running for the Presidency. When I say glued, I mean literally watching the Irish and Uk TV networks deliver the same news regarding Trump. Much of the mainstream media have been completely one sided in there bias towards Donald Trump. In fact I emailed Sky News to ask them to broadcast a positive news story about him. I got no reply!

Because Trump says pretty much what he wants, that attracts the media like flies because they want to publish all the shocking details about what he said. Wikileaks released emails about Hillary Clinton with Podesta emails contributing absolutely nothing in Mainstream media circles. Either the public have become so conditioned by the ultimate power of the media or they are unaware or sadly to compliant.

It is incredible the response I get from friends and colleagues when I defend Trump or talk positively about him. Some are totally shocked and horrified that I would be supporting him. This is the response from people who are watching the Michael Moore documentaries, who love George Clooney and support Gary Lineker when he tweets with Lily Allen about how badly we treat the migrants in Calais. So my view is irrelevant to them. It's there leftist Obama approach of do nothing. Ah sure it's no harm having open borders and letting everybody come in, ''Ask no questions hear no lies''.I am all for helping people in distress and who have been stranded in countries who have been ravaged by war.

When they say they are voting for Clinton I don't jump down there throat or snigger at them. Human nature fears change. It fears the unknown, and certainly is wary of an Alpha male who has terrific leadership skills and who is the complete opposite to what we as a society in 2016 have become. Many men now have started to behave like Beta males, men who watch Hollywood movies and think and act like Hugh Grant. I used to watch Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson movies and loved there cavalier approach. Take no nonsense and just get the job done. Not politically correct and who lay out there plan and see it through.

Clinton is owned by donors and special interest groups. They throw money at her in return for favours when she is in power. Goldman Sachs pay for her TV ads. Trump cannot afford TV ads and pays his own cash into his Presidential project. So if he did win then he would not be responsible for the special interests and donors. He could implement business incentives and introduce new plans to help the economy boom.

The mainstream media have been publishing articles online about Trump and Clinton everyday. Whenever I google Donald I get a stream of negative stories. When I google Clinton it mentions positive polling numbers. Trump went to flood damaged Louisianna a few months ago before Obama and Clinton. The major news networks hardly mentioned it. It made no news online and I had to look on youtube for some dodgy camera work from citizens living in Louisianna who filmed Trump coming. This pretty much sums up the challenge that Trump has. Clinton donors and special interests own the media networks and this is why she gets all the positive stories. I am at the stage now that people with my views don't seem to be on TV or Radio anymore.

WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN WORLDWIDE

1). The USA to stop invading countries and claiming weapons of mass destruction (total lies)
2). The media to be more fair in there news stories
3). Getting Arab countries to sort out the mess in the middle east
4). To eradicate the ideology of Islamic terrorists
5). Peace and Love
6). For us all to get along
7). To control borders and to make sure that people are checked out before they come in
8). Better leaders
9). Improved relations with Russia, sit down with Putin and get along.
10). Stop the EU trying to eradicate sovereign countries and to slowly stop stripping away our freedoms.

Clinton wants opens borders,
Wants one currency worldwide,
One embassy in Europe
Low paid migrant workers flooding Europe & USA

She is a fan of Angela Merkel (that says it all) If Trump does win then the Media got it completely wrong. It will show them up and the public will start to distrust them going forward. It won't make a difference until people who have no agendas take over media corporations and provide a balanced view. There is a movement happening all over the world. Marine Le Pen, Nigel Farage and Trump moving forward with a different approach. The Alt right becoming the bane of the left. We need good fair leadership and nobody knows how Trump will do. One things for sure, we know 30 years of Clinton has done damage. She voted for the attack on Iraq, her dealings with Benhazi were dubious to say the least. She has achieved nothing and that is because she is controlled by the big banks and special interests.

November the 8th is the day we will find out who wins.

Good luck to both Hillary and Donald!

Cavan Murders & What Needs To Be Done Now #cavan

.. Since the year 2000, 27 murder suicides have occurred in Ireland. Not only has someone taken there own life but they have taken the lives of innocent people with them. When the news broke regarding this tragedy in Cavan my heart sank. A tear came to my eye as the realisation of what had happened in that house in Ballyjamesduff. I am aware that Gardai investigations are ongoing and no motive has yet been made public. I had initially thought that it was a spur of the moment attack and that not much planning had gone into it but having heard that the attacker left a note or possibly two I am beginning to think that the person who carried out these horrendous murders had been thinking about it for some time. In fact while I write this the Gardai have said that the Father left a second note detailing why he killed his wife and three young sons.

We have heard much about the Father & how he was a pillar of the community. Well he wasn't much of a pillar when he decided to go on a murder spree amongst his whole family. Joe O'Reilly murdered his wife Rachel over 15 years ago and was described as an evil monster and rightly so but this man who murders his three sons and wife is described as a lovely fella and a pillar of the community. Can somebody please justify this? So because he killed himself we are to be somehow more remorseful? Something seriously wrong here folks. We have not heard much about the mother. The woman who gave birth to three beautiful boys and who nourished them through youth and did everything for them. It took a few days to see her photo. Let us please put this crime into perspective. Yes of course it's a tragedy, of course it's very sad, but it has to be said that a person with serious issues destroyed his whole family. Because life was unbearable for him and his thoughts that life would be miserable for his family gave him no right to do what he did. He murdered four people for his own reasons. This term ''Murder Suicide'' seems to be a more acceptable way of putting ''Murderer'' down in print.

Every time a serious crime is committed we are told by the media that ''Mental Health Issues'' were to blame. It is so disrespectful to the thousands of Irish people who deal with Mental Health issues on a daily basis. If Mr Hawe was so unhappy why did he have to take his three kids and wife away from this world. I can't accept that. I can somehow understand somebody taking there own life but to take somebody else's with you is going to another level and is so not right.

I hope that people who are not feeling good or feeling down would talk to someone. Start with your GP & go from there. There is no shame or stigma attached to feeling low inside or being anxious. If you were my friend I would be happy to help you if you were feeling down inside and would point you in the right direction. It must be pointed out though that this type of behaviour of murdering innocent people because you have issues is not acceptable in society. 27 Murder Suicides in 16 years is a big concern. The government need to investigate this further and come up with a plan.

My thought's and prayer's are with everyone affected by this terrible crime.

Changing My Style Of Play from Defence to Attack

8/2/2016

One of the toughest challenge's in my Table Tennis career was at the age of 17 debating on whether to change my style of play from defence to all round attack. I started Table Tennis in 1986 as a defence player as I had showed signs that my style was heading in that direction. I displayed characteristics of other defensive player's by retreating back from that table and the coach decided that he would mould me in that fashion and also thinking that the other players would benefit from playing against my awkward style.

I suppose looking back I had no choice in becoming a defensive player. The coach made that decision and stuck by it. I have no regrets about this and only look at the positive's of what was to come.

It was in 1991 that I asked my Father to help me change my style. The reason I wanted to change is because the attacking player's were using Tip Top speed glue (banned now). The power of the drive topspin was too much for me to handle and I feel now that back then I had no coach who was able to take me to that next level of defence. We had very few coaches back then with the expertise that some have now.

So Dad had absolutely no Table Tennis experience. Never played and never coached. It was a recipe for disaster I thought. I couldn't have been further from the truth. Dad went into Eason's on O'Connell St and bought ''Lentec'' Table Tennis Equipment manual and he bought David Fairholm's Table Tennis Tactics. Two books I still have on the book shelf right behind me as I am writing this. He read them inside out and started to get a grasp for task that was ahead of us.

Anyone who has been coached by a parent will know how up and down the experience can be. If you have a disagreement then you both take that home together. When you have a disagreement with a coach, the coach goes home to his or her home and has a cooling off period. With a parent and son or daughter then this can't happen. You live and breath the game and the pressure can become too much. We had our differences but our love for what we were trying to achieve conquered the doubt.

The first thing Dad did, was invest in a table tennis robot by a company called Newgy. It was an amazing device and fired balls with four different spins using it's oscillator to move the balls in the different locations on the table. This played a huge part in my change of style. Then we invested in TSP Spin Pips which was a short pimple rubber. I would use this on the backhand with the idea that I would drive through opponents spin. Dad also kept telling me that in the manuals the authors would talk about a new technique for coaches and player's called ''Multi-Ball''. I didn't know what it was and so we started to mirror the pictures in the manual's.

Soon we are on our way to me finally having a backhand drive and backhand loop. For two years I played with the pips and then finally moved onto live tacky rubber on both sides. It was an extremely difficult process. I remember I played in a competition with the new pips on the BH. It was one set all up to 21 points and 20-20 in the final game. It was last 8 of some event. I started to revert back to my old style of defence because I was not comfortable and ''Feared'' I had not got the courage to go for it. I actually doubted my change and ultimately lost the match.

I had learned that style of defence from day one and it was in my head that this is the way to play. That was all I knew. 5 years after that, I played that same opponent in a final and beat him with the live rubbers on both sides. After that I never reverted back from the table unless I was forced back to lob by my opponents but the negative style thought's had faded and that feeling of conquering my fear was gone.

I represented Ireland in 1988 and 1989 as a defensive player at the European Youth Championships and I would later represent Ireland in the senior European Championships as an attacking player in 2002. How many player's have done this? not many have  represented there country as both a defensive and attacking player. Anyone who has knows the sacrifice.

Nothing is impossible. Go for it! Thank you Dad and thank you Tadashi Hiraga for helping me like you did. I couldn't have achieved it without you both.

Yours in Sport

Olympic Table Tennis In Rio - Player's to watch out for

7/31/2016

Picture

The Olympic Table Tennis competition in Rio kicks off next week with China expected to make a clean sweep of medals, particularly Gold.

MEN'S

Germany's
Timo Boll is always a dangerous opponent. He is shortlisted to be the flag bearer for the German Olympic team.
Germany's
Dimitrij Ovtcharov a former bronze medalist in men's singles London 2012 can beat anyone on his day.

Kanak Jha is America’s rising table tennis star, A Rio Olympics medal hope in Men's Singles maybe but I wouldn't bet on it.

Japan's
Jun Mizutani can beat anyone on his day but needs a decent draw. He struggle's against Zhang Jike and Ma Long but to be honest who doesn't.

Great Britain will have
Paul Drinkhall and rising star Liam Pitchford. Liam has beaten some of the worlds greatest players in the last year.

Vladimir Samsonov from Belarus is a veteran of Olympic TT. He has been in quarter finals many times but has not got that elusive bronze.

China's
Ma Long and Zhang Jike are the two KINGS of Ping Pong in China. It's hard to look past them.

The Team Event is going to be China in both Men's and Women's unless a major surprise awaits them.

Women's

Number 1 player in the World Liu Shiwen has been left out of the singles in a surprising move by the Chinese manager. She was not allowed to play singles in London either...hmmmm China will certainly win the Team event in Women's singles with
Li Xiaoxia and Ding Ning. Shiwen  can only play in the team event.

Germany, North Korea, Japan and South Korea are expected to put up the hardest fights for medals at the Riocentro venue, where the matches will run throughout the Games.

The youngest player to take the stage will be 15-year-old Adrian Diaz, who will be Puerto Rico's first Olympic table tennis player, while the oldest is 54-year-old Chinese-born Spanish player He Zhiwen

Join me for commentary on RTE Television from next Friday.

Why I Believe Trump Will Be President

7/29/2016

Picture

In September of last year I decided to watch Donald Trump deliver one of his many Republican primary speeches that would somehow land him the Republican nominee position he was so intent on having. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz were two other candidates and 15 other's  along with Governor Jeb Bush. I watched Trump for 45 minutes on Youtube talk to a crowd of over 28,000 people. The Rolling Stones would have been proud of that number of people turning out for a gig.

The one difference was Trump had no guitar and no band supporting him. He was alone on stage saying what he wanted, doing what he wanted and not worried about the consequence's of his words. He's a billionaire real estate guy, who took over his father's business and turned it into a global fortune. The Rapper and Actor Ice Cube has said that Trump is the American Dream, does and says what he wants and is rich.

His rise to power in US politics has been nothing short of phenomenal. His use of nicknames for his oppnents Marco Rubio (little Marco) Ted Cruz (lyin Ted) has added spice to what would be another boring US political campaign. He has hit the nerve of people in the US and around the world who are totally fed up with the Liberal Left running the world into the ground. Talking a great story but ultimately getting nothing done. Obama, Merkel and Cameron all fearing the consequences of offending anyone or being OTT politically correct. Some people alike are just tired of that type of society. They relish straight talking and someone who says what they are really thinking but to afraid to say.

Trump has mentioned ISIS, Economy and Borders as 3 of his main proposals for change. He addresses the audiences as "Folks" as Reagan once did. He talks to you like he knows you. A leader and a showman but a formidable opponent. Some people are offended by his actions because the media portray him as a dictator and a foolish man and somebody who is potentially dangerous.

I always remember watching Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry, Magnum Force. Their was an Asian girl in his apartment block who was doing everything she could to attract Harry's attention. She even let herself in to his apartment and got into his bed. He wasn't bothered and was indifferent. He had Alpha male qualities similar to Trump. You're either with him or against him but he does not care either way. To say Trump's female vote will be low is being way off the mark. Actually I believe many women will vote for him.

Some will say ''Where's his policies''? What politician in the history of politics has actually gone and implemented policies. It's all talk with Obama and I would have voted for Obama but now he has been a real let down. He stands for nothing and just comes across as weak. The Chinese Premier, Saudi King and Cuba's leader ''Castro'' didn't even bother to turn up to welcome Obama on official state visits. He is seen as somebody who real leader's don't take seriously. Trump said that if Putin or the Saudi King do the same to him he will turn Air Force one around and go home. The best negotiating position is to Walk away and mean it.

I see Russia as instrumental in establishing a coalition of Allies to go and destroy Isis. Daesh are becoming a massive pest in society and the ridiculous ideology they are spurting out is unacceptable. They must be defeated soon. Obama has alienated Russia by bringing in sanctions against them to stop them seizing control of strategic hotspots in Eastern Europe. If Obama had chosen to talk to Putin and work things out instead of sanctioning him then the relationship would be stronger. Trump will fix this no doubt.

So in November Donald Trump will become the next President of the United States Of America for all the reason's I mention above unless some scandal happens between now and then but he has shown strength in the past controversies and seems to get stronger. Clinton and her email scandal has already started her downfall. Scandals ultimately destroy candidate's and I believe Hillary Clinton's Achilles heel is her email server hack.

Summer Olympics RTE Rio 2016

The Summer Olympics 2016 kicks off on the 5th August. I am really looking forward to commentating on the Table Tennis, a sport which entered the Olympic programme in 1998 at Seoul. This is not my first time commentating on the sport for RTE as I was involved for London 2012.

China has won 24 of the 28 Olympic gold medals contested since the sport entered the Games in 1988. They achieved clean sweeps at the London 2012 and Beijing 2008 Games, winning all four golds up for grabs (individual and team for both men and women).

Sweden for many years had the expertise of Jan Ove Waldner however that has all changed now so I cannot see any other players to cause an upset from a European nation. In the men's individual event, London 2012 gold medallist Zhang Jike faces an even greater challenge in Rio. He will be trying to achieve what no player has managed so far – to defend the men's Olympic singles title. Watch out for Europe & Japan In the Men's singles  Japan's Jun Mizutani and Germany's Dimitrij Ovtcharov.

In the Team event China will win both the women's and men's team events.

The China ladies & Men's team are also phenomenally good. It's scary how dominant they are so if I see another country lift the trophy then it will be the biggest shock in Olympic Sport in the last 30 years.

See you all for the games and may the best athlete and team's win:)

Mcllroy Hints At Withdrawal From Rio

Rory Mcllroy has raised concerns about the Zika virus ahead of the Rio Olympics 2016. Mcllroy has said that if the virus continues to hamper the event then he will consider withdrawing from the August games. He has said that he and his partner may wish to start a family sometime soon and that the Zika virus could cause birth defects and that's a risk he is not prepared to take.

The recently crowned Irish Open Golf winner pulling out would be a massive blow to the Irish team. Their are major doubts over the Rio Olympics even taking place now and a superstar athlete raising these issues will only put more fuel on the fire.

The Negative Achiever

5/10/2016

I first came across a negative achiever when I was seventeen and completing the Leaving Certificate. Like everyone at that age I was naïve and thought I knew everything. I was trying to do as good as I could and get the best result I could. I was hanging around with a couple of mates and one of them was constantly saying the teacher was useless, the School is crap and that he himself never studies. However with all this negativity amongst the group instigated by one person, he had brought the group morale down and everyone then started saying negative things.

When June came along that year, that person who was spreading negativity like a virus got the highest marks. This was the guy who's tongue was black from all the negative attitude, who never studied a day in his life but yet ''Got the highest marks''. Makes you wonder?  I bet if you think right now about a friend who is like this you might decide to either confront them about their behaviour or maybe avoid them. Life is too short folks for hanging around people who are overly negative. They never actually help to improve things and are better off on their own.

Imagine this person was in your Sports team and saying all kinds of stuff. He/She would be getting the results and you would be struggling to score or hit a winner due to your negative outlook caused by the Negative Achiever. They drag you down. Don't let them and by reading this and understanding how life works you can now spot the signs.

Since my Leaving Cert I have met 2-3 other individuals with this mentality. And guess what? I notice the bad traits immediately and steer clear at all costs. Enjoy your life and stay positive even under the toughest of challenges.

My Tribute To Prince RIP 21st April 2016

I have just heard the tragic news regarding the untimely death of legendary musician Prince. The outpouring of grief on Twitter & Facebook is reminiscent of the shock that shook us all when David Bowie passed earlier this year. Prince was different in many aspects including his illusive attitude towards the media.

My brother Edwin introduced me to his music. Prince had so many hits and was an influence to so many bands and artists. His music even crossed over into Rap & Dance when MC Hammer used a sample of "When Doves Cry" on his jam "Pray".

My heart is hurting but we all have the comfort knowing that we were blessed to have been part of his journey.

RIP Prince, Symbol, Purple Prince....
